BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA (WFTV) – A WFTV drone surveyed the damage left by Hurricane Matthew.

The WFTV drone does a flyover of the Cocoa Beach Pier, which looks to have sustained some but not much  damage from the hurricane force winds of Hurricane Matthew.

Matthew skirted the Brevard County coast early Friday morning with wind gusts between 80 and 90 m.p.h.

A five hundred foot tower at Kennedy Space Center registered a wind gust of 127 m.p.h

The 11:00 p.m. Thursday National Weather Service update noted a wobble of 20 to 30 miles in the direction of Hurricane Matthew to the east. This change spared much of Brevard from what was predicted to be catastrophic damage.
