BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – On Wednesday morning, Melbourne Tillman Water Control employee Kevin Jett discovered a grenade while clearing out the C1 Canal (AKA Tillman Canal) located west of Emerson Dr. NE.

The Bomb Squad determined that the grenade was a toy grenade.

Authorities say they do not believe it is connected to the other “novelty” grenade found earlier in the week, according Lt. Mike Bandish of the Palm Bay Police Department.

Palm Bay Police assisted in the matter.
