Early Monday Morning Crash Involving A Semi Kills Man On I-95, Says Florida Highway Patrol

Hurshell Cordell, 72, of Cocoa has been identified as the pedestrian who was killed in a crash on Wednesday evening.
Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly car crash that involved a semi on I-95 early Monday morning near the Pineda Causeway exit in South Brevard.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly car crash that involved a semi on I-95 early Monday morning near the Pineda Causeway exit in South Brevard, according Sgt. Kim Montes of the Florida Highway Patrol.

Authorities identified the fatal crash victim as 39-year-old Neil Shafranski from Vero Beach.

The driver of the other vehicle was 54-year-old Rolando Gonzalez. Gonzalez didn’t suffer any injuries, according to FHP

According to the report, both drivers were heading southbound on I-95 when Shafranski and his 2014 Volks Jetta ran into the back of Gonzalez’s semi truck.

Shafrankski was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities.

The crash occurred around 12:30 a.m. and is still being investigated by the Florida Highway Patrol.
