An unborn twin died as a result of a vehicle crash on Friday afternoon at the intersection of State Road 520 and State Road 528 in Orange County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 2012 Kia 4-door sedan, driven by Adam Latham,52, of Brevard County, was traveling westbound on State Road 520 and attempted to make a left turn onto State Road 528.

According to FHP, Latham pulled into the direct path of a 23-year-old pregnant woman from Orlando, and the front of the woman’s 2013 Volkswagen 4-door sedan struck the right side of Latham’s vehicle, causing it to overturn.

The pregnant woman, who Space Coast Daily is not identifying due to company policy, was airlifted to Health First’s Holmes Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

According to FHP, the one of the woman’s unborn female twins died at the hospital.

Latham, who had minor injuries, was transported to Wuesthoff Medical Center in Rockledge.

According to FHP, this crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
