BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – After posting exceptional performances during the past week, Women’s golf’s Brittany LaPadula and football’s Chris Stapleton have been named Mike Erdman Auto Group Athletes of the Week for the week of Oct. 31 – Nov. 6.

LaPadula not only won the individual title at the NCAA Division II Preview early in the week, her one-under par performance helped guide the Panthers to the team championship.

The Port St. Lucie native fired rounds of 72 and 71 to put herself atop the leaderboard with teammate Guro Rambjoer and West Florida’s Paloma Vaccaro, taking the title via a tiebreaker.

Stapleton spearheaded a strong defensive effort in the Panthers’ 45-21 victory over West Georgia. The redshirt-senior captain registered 13 tackles and a sack in the contest.

The 13 tackles matches Manny Abad’s team-high from the West Alabama game. Overall FIT held the Wolves to a season-low 272 yards of total offense.
