Florida Tech Running Back Antwuan Haynes Named Gulf South Conference Offensive Player of Week

Haynes rushed for 212 yards and three TD's

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech sophomore running back Antwuan Haynes has been named the Gulf South Conference Offensive Player of the Week for Week 11 after leading the charge offensively in the Panthers’ 42-16 win over Delta State.
Haynes lit up the Statesmen all day, finishing the day with 212 yards on 27 carries, finding the end zone on a trio of runs. The 212 yards were the most by any player in the GSC this season, good for 7.9 yards per carry.
All in all, FIT racked up 306 total rushing yards against DSU, while only allowing 18 yards on the ground.
The speedy tailback out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida finishes out the regular season with 98.3 rushing yards per game, leading the GSC, while his 162.8 all-purpose yards rank second behind Mississippi College’s Marcel Newson.
Haynes and the Panthers are gearing up for Saturday’s opening round of the NCAA Division II Playoffs, the first playoff appearance in Florida Tech history.
