BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – I am very proud to announce that the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office was recognized last week by Military Times magazine as “Best for Vets 2016,” which recognized 20 Law Enforcement agencies from across the country for their commitment to providing opportunities to America’s veterans.
Military Times is comprised of Army Times, Navy Times, Air Force Times and Marine Corps Times and focuses on culture and policies that cater to military veterans.
When conducting and scoring the 4th annual “Best for Vets,” Law Enforcement agencies across the country were evaluated for their efforts to connect with veterans while providing an environment for success.
Those agencies identified, demonstrated the most accommodating practices and environments for veterans in the Criminal Justice arena.
“Best for Vets” is an editorially independent news project that evaluates the many factors that make an Law Enforcement Agency a good fit for military veterans and reservists.
I could not be more proud of our agency and team as this is the third year in a row we have received such distinction as many of our members have previously and currently served their country in the Armed Forces!
Veterans are incredible employees, who are loyal, resilient, diverse, disciplined and heroic in their protection of our nation and community. They possess teamwork skills and real life experiences that are unique and highly valued.
I can’t thank them enough for their devotion, service and sacrifice, as we are honored to do everything possible to make them a part of our BCSO family doing what they do best, protecting our community!!
