JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA (YAHOO) – Could the first head coach in Jaguars history be their first choice to lead the team out of the NFL wilderness?
NFL Media insider Ian Rapoport reported that the Jaguars will interview Tom Coughlin this week for their head coaching position left vacant by the recent firing of Gus Bradley.
Coughlin, 70, served as the Jaguars’ coach during their inaugural year in 1995 and he went on to lead the team to the playoffs four times in eight seasons in Jacksonville, where he compiled a 68-60 record.
After joining the New York Giants in 2004, Coughlin coached the team to two Super Bowl victories before resigning after last season.
