Melbourne Police Charge Kathy Jones With Aggravated Battery With Motor Vehicle During Road Rage

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne police officers arrested Kathy Jones, 53, after responding to a hit-and-run early Thursday morning at about 2:10 a.m. in the area of Race Street and Horne Street.

According to Melbourne Police Sgt. Brad Blout, witnesses on the scene said the hit-and-run was an intentional act, stemming from a road rage incident between Jones and the victim.

According to police, Jones ran over the victim with her pickup truck and fled the area.

Officers then observed the truck in the area of Eau Gallie Boulevard and South Harbor City Boulevard and stopped the vehicle.

“The victim was taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center and is in stable condition,” said Sgt. Blout.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim.

Jones was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Battery with a Motor Vehicle.
