The Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball team defeated Northwest Florida State 85-72 in a battle of top 12 teams in the country

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball team defeated Northwest Florida State 85-72 in a battle of top 12 teams in the country.

The No. 12-ranked Titans jumped out to an eight-point lead in the first half and extended it in the second half to pick up its seventh straight win.

Kareem Brewton and Ahmed Ali once again led the Titans attack, each scoring 20 points in the game. Teammate Shaq Carter had his best game as a Titan as the freshman finished with 17 points and seven rebounds.

Austin Awad had 12 points while Eli Abaev had seven points and 11 rebounds and Joan Duran had seven points and 10 rebounds.

“I’m speechless, I could not be more proud of our guys,” Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball coach Jeremy Shulman said. “It showed so much character and toughness and togetherness to get this one done tonight.”

The Titans will take a break for the holiday before hosting the Josh Artis Memorial Crowne Plaza Classic beginning Dec. 29. The Titans will take the floor on Dec. 30 against Atlanta Metropolitan College at 2 p.m.
