BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – DaVita Kidney Care, a leading independent provider of integrated health and kidney care services in the U.S., and Parrish Medical Center, announced a new joint venture to serve patients in Titusville with integrated kidney care.

The joint venture between DaVita, which runs more than 2,300 outpatient dialysis centers in 12 countries, and Parrish Medical Center will enhance dialysis services in the community.

“We are proud to partner with DaVita, which is well known for its quality kidney disease treatment programs and services,” said George Mikitarian, PMC president and chief executive officer.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Five-Star Quality Rating program rates dialysis providers from one to five stars to measure patient outcomes, giving consumers a better picture of how a center is performing. For the third year in a row, DaVita has been recognized as a clinical leader in the CMS Five-Star Quality Rating System.

According to the latest government ratings, DaVita outperformed the rest of the industry with the highest percentage of four- and five-star centers and lowest percentage of one- and two-star centers in the country.

“This joint venture between two innovative, leading health care providers will deliver superior and comprehensive renal care to the community,” said Kenny Gardner, group vice president at DaVita.

“Our combined capabilities will allow us to meet a growing need for high-quality dialysis services among residents.”

Parrish Medical Center is the nation’s first to earn The Joint Commission Integrated Care certification.
