UPDATE: The Florida Highway Patrol has identified Ariel Adams of Ft. Pierce as the victim in the fatal crash reported on Monday afternoon.

UPDATE: The Florida Highway Patrol has identified Ariel Adams of Ft. Pierce as the victim in the fatal crash reported on Monday afternoon.

Adams, who was pregnant, was ejected from the SUV she was a passenger in, and died at the hospital. The medical examiner will determine the age of the fetus and whether the fetus was viable.

According to FHP, Adams was not wearing a seatbelt and this crash remains under investigation.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly car crash that has killed a pregnant woman Monday night along I-95 in Melbourne.

According to the FHP preliminary investigation, the crash occurred around 6 p.m. when the woman’s car was headed southbound on I-95 near mile marker 180 then suddenly rolled off the interstate, striking two cars in the process, and continued to roll down an embankment.

The woman was ejected from the vehicle and died as a result from the crash.

The crash briefly blocked the southbound outside lane on I-95.
