**UPDATE** BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay Police say a Florida Institute of Technology pilot had to put down his 1975 Cessna 150 during a training flight in a field along Micco Rd. Monday afternoon.

The pilot said they were practicing training maneuvers when the cabin filled up with smoke.

The student passenger was transported to Sebastian River Hospital for precautionary measures.

The Cessna 150 flew out of The Melbourne International Airport.
