Cocoa Police, BCSO Bust Serial Armed Robbery Suspect Jessie Daniel Crawford

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA — Cocoa Police Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division, with assistance from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Jessie Daniel Crawford, 42, in connection with armed robberies that occurred in late November 2016.
According to Yvonne Martinez, Cocoa Police Public Information Officer, Crawford is also a suspect in multiple armed robberies that occurred in Brevard County.
Last November, Crawford is believed to have entered the 7-11 at 947 Dixon Boulevard with his face covered and dressed in dark clothing.
He displayed a firearm and demanded money from the clerk who complied. According to the victim, the suspect apologized before fleeing the store, and other similar robberies were reported in unincorporated Brevard County around the same time period.
“In December detectives received information from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office of a possible suspect later identified as Crawford,” said Martinez.
“BSCO detectives were notified of Crawford’s arrest in Cottondale, Florida for unrelated crimes in that jurisdiction. A subsequent search of the suspect’s vehicle revealed evidence from the robberies in Cocoa including the clothing he appeared to be wearing at the time of the robbery. Once in custody the suspect confessed.”
Crawford has been charged with six counts of robbery with a firearm/weapon, two counts of Possession of firearm by a convicted felon, four counts of felony wear mask/hood, one count of robbery with no weapon and one count felony failure to appear. He is in the Brevard County Detention Center without bond.
