Melbourne Police Arrest, Charge Cocoa Man For Robbery and Theft After Holding Up Two Stores

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police have arrested and charged a 41-year-old Jesse Crawford of Cocoa, for robbery, after authorities say the suspect robbed a Kangaroo Express on 2455 N. Wickham Rd. in Melbourne earlier this month.
According to Commander Sean Riordan of the Melbourne Police Department, police received a call January 8 regarding an armed robbery at the Kangaroo Express on Wickham Rd.
Police described the suspect as a white man, wearing an orange hoodie, who implied he had a firearm to witnesses and eventually fled on foot.
A search of the area did not produce any suspects at the time of the initial investigation.

The suspect information matched and Melbourne Police began working in conjunction with Sebastian Police to identify the suspect.
On January 18, the Cocoa Police Department arrested a suspect that matched the description of the two listed robberies and the suspect was charged with similar crimes.
The Melbourne Police Department Community Response Team utilized this information to continue the investigation and was able to link the suspect arrested by Cocoa Police to the robbery at the Kangaroo Express.
Then, on January 20, the Melbourne Police Department’s Community Response Team charged
the suspect with Robbery, Robbery by Disguise and Theft.
