EVENT SET FOR JANUARY 17

ABOVE VIDEO: Elaine Larsen, a Space Coast Sports Hall of Fame 2016 inductee, will be the featured guest on January 17 for the Founders Forum’s first event of 2017.

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The Founders Forum will host their first event of 2017 as the organization features Elaine Larsen, President of Larsen Motorsports and driver of Florida Institute of Technology’s Jet Dragster.

Larsen has always had a love of racing and a need for speed. She started building cars inside a normal garage and attended her first drag race at Mid-Michigan Motorplex over 20 years ago.

Through hard-work and perseverance, she and her husband Chris now own the largest jet-powered race team in the world.

This Founders Forum event will highlight Larsen’s background in drag racing, as well as Larsen Motorsports’ growing relationship with Florida Institute of Technology where she is a mentor and ambassador for STEM education, research and innovative application.

“Elaine’s affiliation with FIT positively impacts and influences our community, and her team is challenging how the world views STEM education and its use in the future,” said Founders Forum Chairwoman Christine Thompson.

“We’re very excited to have a discussion with this local founder!”

Established in 1985, the Founders Forum is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the needs of entrepreneurs in the Brevard County, Florida community.

The organization’s primary focus is to provide a forum where existing and new businesses can enhance their capabilities and broaden their network in order to successfully grow their companies.

The event will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Larsen Motorsports (Florida Tech) on 2495 Palm Bay Road NE in Palm Bay.
