920th Aerospace Medicine Squadron’s Staff Sgt. Calvin Fleming, Named Airman of the Year

BREVARD COUNTY • PATRICK AIR FORCE BASE, FLORIDA – Staff Sgt. Calvin Fleming, a health services management technician at the 920th Aerospace Medicine Squadron, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, was named the 920th Rescue Wing’s Airman of the Year for 2016.
Fleming maintained more than 1,200 medical and dental records and directly supported pre- and post-deployment medical evaluations for 717 reservists from eight geographically separated units.
He provided on-the-job training for two new personnel and helped facilitate more than 500 physical exams.
As a Citizen Airman, Fleming pursued a project management degree and coached male youth recreation sports.
He also earned six credits toward his Community College of the Air Force degree, served as the unit safety representative, and raised more than $6,500 for charity.
(Note: Fleming was a senior airman for most of 2016, and was recently promoted to the noncommissioned officer rank)
