Eastern Florida State College Women’s Tennis Team Earns Split With Embry-Riddle, Men Fall 5-4

Women's team improved to 2-1 on the season

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College tennis teams split with Embry-Riddle on Thursday afternoon.

The women’s team improved to 2-1 on the season with a 6-3 victory while the men’s team lost 5-4.

After losing two of the three doubles matches, the women’s team stormed back in singles, winning five of the six matches.

Luisa Varon, Josephine Karcher, Filda Badi and Giulianna Hull all won in straight sets while Armelle Cerdan battled back after losing the first set to post the 4-6, 6-1, 6-1 victory.

Hull teamed with Brenda Aguilar to win the third doubles match 8-4.

After losing two of the three doubles matches, the men’s team split the six singles matches, falling 5-4.

Eastern Florida State College will travel to Palm Beach Atlantic for a 4 p.m. match today

In singles, Danrich Kruger won the second singles match in three sets, winning the third set 7-5.

Jesus Amezcua picked up a win in third singles and Pablo Munoz stormed bac after losing the first set 4-6, winning 6-3 and 10-7.

The doubles team of Kruger and Eduardo Garcia won the No. 1 doubles in a tiebreaker.

Eastern Florida State College will travel to Palm Beach Atlantic for a 4 p.m. match Friday.
