Mims Woman Killed In Orange County Motorcycle Crash, Three Brevard County Residents Injured

ORANGE COUNTY • CHRISTMAS, FLORIDA – Florida Highway Patrol were called to a deadly scene Saturday at around 5:15 p.m. that involved two motorcycles in Orange County near State Road 50 and Cupid Ave. in Christmas.
According to Sgt. Kim Montes, FHP have identified the woman killed as a passenger on one of the bikes as 49-year-old Michelle Denmark of Mims.
The other Brevard County bikers were identified as 52-year-old Luis Fratta of Cocoa, Fratta was the driver of the 2012 Harley Davidson that Ms. Denmark was riding along with. Mr. Fratta sufferred serious injuries and was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center.
The bikers were on the other bike were 53-year-old Russell Winters (driver) of Titusville and 35-year-old Tiffany Jones (passenger) of Titusville. Both, Winters and Jones suffered only minor injuries, according to FHP troopers.
According to the preliminary investigation by FHP, both motorcycles were traveling eastbound on State Road 50 as Mr. Fratta was trailing behind Mr. Winters. Winters, aboard his 2004 Harley Davidson, attempted to slow down to make a right turn on Cupid Ave., however, Mr. Fratta failed to slow down causing the bike to strike Mr. Winters side, resulting in both bikes crashing and killing Ms. Denmark.
Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the incident.
