BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Grand Opening of Groundswell’s high tech incubator will take place Friday, March 24 at the riverfront Tech Village in Downtown Melbourne, located at 2412 Irwin Street.

This is a free, public event, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

What many are calling, “the most impressive startup incubator in the State of Florida,” the diverse Groundswell team is made up of millennials, serial entrepreneurs and venture capitalists who are committed to attracting and retaining talent on the Space Coast.

All resources and industry-expert mentorship are made available to high tech founders at no cost and the team upholds a policy of “no equity and no-strings” as part of its effort to strengthen a culture of entrepreneurship in the region.

The team has helped nine early-stage companies secure angel investment in the past year.

The Grand Opening, free and open to the public, will serve to acknowledge the more than 40 industry-expert mentors and 60 high tech founders whose hard work and grit help to attract wealth to the region.

Local venture capitalist and philanthropist, Bud Deffebach, has renovated an indoor skatepark to serve as headquarters for emerging startups.

While the graffiti will stay on the walls of the skatepark, the space now serves as office and coworking space to the more than 60 companies seeking to scale operations in Brevard County.

The Space Coast Economic Development Commission will partner with Groundswell to host a monthly Moonshot Innovation Series in-partnership with Groundswell beginning this April 2017.

The series will feature disruptive tech conversations and local entrepreneurs solving for major industry challenges.
