A pedestrian was killed Monday night when he was struck by a pickup truck in the 5200 block of South Washington Avenue in Titusville.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – A pedestrian was killed Monday night when he was struck by a pickup truck in the 5200 block of South Washington Avenue in Titusville.

The pedestrian is identified as 35-year-old Keith Andrew Bryant of Cocoa.

At about 9:30 p.m. Monday night, Titusville police officers responded to a report of a traffic crash with injuries involving a pedestrian and a vehicle, according to Amy L. Matthews, Titusville Police Department Public Affairs Coordinator/Public Information Officer.

“The preliminary investigation revealed that the adult male victim walked into oncoming traffic of the southbound lane at the 5200 block of South Washington Avenue and was struck by a 2015 Dodge Ram truck driven by David Andrew Utecht, 52, of Rockledge,” said Matthews.

“The victim was transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased at approximately 11 p.m.”

Utecht and his two passengers were not injured in the crash.

This traffic crash homicide remains under investigation by the Titusville Police Department and further details will be released upon its conclusion by traffic crash investigators.
