SARASOTA, FLORIDA (FWC) – Warehouse employees near Sarsota were in a unique predicament when a bobcat made its way inside the second floor of a large commercial warehouse.

Believed to have come in while hunting squirrels in the doorway of the building, the bobcat remained inside even after employees opened the doors in hopes that the feline would find his way to freedom.

Florida Fish and Wildlife biologists and law enforcement officers were called in to help capture and release the bobcat.

Due to the size of the warehouse and the large amount of equipment on the floor, capturing the bobcat was tricky, but was ultimately a success, say officials.

It hunkered down between several A/C units where staff were able to sedate it and place it in a trap.

Since it appeared to be healthy and in good condition, staff released the bobcat on the property near wooded habitat.
