Women beat Orlando, Men take down Apopka in OT

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – On Saturday, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Enforcers and Lady Enforcers Basketball Teams competed in the annual “Guns and Hoses” Basketball Tournament hosted by the Orlando Magic and Harris Corporation.
Each year basketball teams from Law Enforcement and Fire/Rescue agencies throughout Central Florida compete in the tournament that is held at the Amway Center in Orlando, Fl.
While today’s competition was extremely tough, both the Men and Lady Enforcers teams took home the championship in their respective divisions, earning bragging rights as this year’s “Guns and Hoses” Champions.
The Lady Enforces defeated the Orlando Police Department to win their championship game while the men’s team defeated the Apopka Police Department during a hard fought finals game that went into overtime.

The MVP for the Lady Enforcers was Corrections Deputy Alison Blazewicz. And for the men’s team it was Corrections Deputy Aaron Reed.
Both of our Enforcers Basketball teams are comprised of Law Enforcement Officers and Corrections Deputies from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and local Law Enforcement agencies in Brevard County who volunteer their time to be part of our team.
Please join me in congratulating both of our teams for winning the tournament and also in thanking our very own Harris Corporation and the Orlando Magic for hosting this great event each year.
