POLICE SEEKING UNKNOWN SHOOTERS

The Melbourne Police Department is investigating a shooting which occurred Sunday night at about 7:40 p.m. at Lipscomb Street Park during an Easter celebration.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Melbourne Police Department is investigating a shooting which occurred Sunday night at about 7:40 p.m. at Lipscomb Street Park during an Easter celebration.

According to Melbourne Police Commander Heath Sanders, the celebration had several hundred attendees when two black males got out of an unknown type car and started shooting into the crowd.

Multiple shots were fired, and two adults and one 17-year-old male were shot.

The victims were taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

“A motive for this shooting is unknown and investigators are on the scene,” said Commander Sanders. “Additional information will be released when available.
