ORLANDO, FLORIDA – Orlando City is climbing up the power rankings. The Lions are 4-1 and rank 2nd in the Eastern Conference standings with games in hand after securing three more points by defeating the LA Galaxy 2-1 last Saturday.

Here is a look at where Orlando City ranks in the MLS Power rankings, and where its past and future opponents land.

Major League Soccer – 5th

In the MLS power rankings, the Lions are fifth, three spots higher than the previous week. No. 1 on the list is FC Dallas, who the Lions face at home in two weeks.

City’s opponent this week is New York City FC, who ranks No. 4, just one spot in front of Orlando City.

ESPN FC – 3rd

Orlando City is No.3 on the ESPN FC power rankings list. The lions jumped five spots after their victory over the Galaxy.

ESPN FC experts pointed out that “Orlando is winning despite the absence of Kaka,” who has missed the last four games.

Soccer America – 3rd

FC Dallas is No.1 on Soccer America’s power rankings, but Orlando City are just two spots behind them at No.3.

Soccer America’s team highlighted the play of Orlando City’s goal scorers against the LA Galaxy, “Spectacular hits by Will Johnson and Cyle Larin punctuated several promising attacks.”

New York City FC is No. 8 on Soccer America’s list.

Orlando City will take to the pitch at Yankee Stadium in New York city on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. to take New York FC. The game will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1.
