BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – On Thursday, May 11, from 6 to 11 p.m., Hell ‘n Blazes Brewing Company in downtown Melbourne will be transformed into 1940s Morocco as the “A Night in Casablanca” Casino Fundraiser takes place.

All proceeds from the event benefit the Street to Home Movement led by the South Brevard Sharing Center, a leading community-based agency that addresses core poverty and public health issues like homelessness, food insecurity, and lack of access to health & hygiene goods and services in South Brevard County.

News 13’s Greg Pallone will emcee the event.

The event, which is unlike any other in Brevard County, encourages gamers of all skill levels to try their hands at Vegas-style tables — from blackjack to craps, roulette and poker — while gathering to support a tremendous local cause.

A Poker Tournament will give 60 players a shot at the title of “2017 South Brevard Sharing Center’s Poker Champion” with the “bling” to take home and a trip for two to Las Vegas. At the gaming tables, the professional dealers will be teaching new games or giving tips on how to improve your odds at an old favorite.

All gaming is played using “Casablanca Dollars” fun money. At the end of the evening, all gaming winnings will be turned in and converted to gaming raffle tickets, which can be redeemed for a chance to win one of our more than $35,000 worth of prizes.

Tickets are limited and are now being presold as general event or high roller level admissions. They can be purchased on the event website  or Facebook page.

The Cause: In 2016, the partners of the Street to Home Movement provided housing stability for over 60 households, which helped the highest-need individuals and families with the most barriers to sustainable housing, including physical and mental disabilities, addictions, history of abuse and neglect, and circumstantial events.

The Street to Home Movement works to house those in our community who have been homeless the longest with support services focused on recovery and community re-integration. Street to Home Movement also provides community support and guidance to help prevent homelessness among those most at risk.

In past years, some of the top prizes have included a gift certificate to Toyota of Melbourne; a Utah ski vacation and many other adventure packages; a personal tour of Washington D.C. by Katie Posey, wife of Congressman Bill Posey; exquisite jewelry from Kempf’s Jewelers; a kayak from Strike-Zone Fishing; and many other exciting experiences and goodies.

All attendees will enjoy delectable bites from Downtown Melbourne’s favorite restaurants, and our Decadent Dessert Bar featuring the sweetest indulgences from local favorites such as Cakes So Simple and Graffiti Zoo Gourmet Chocolate.
