BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Congressman Bill Posey (R-Rockledge) awarded 24 graduating high school seniors of Florida’s 8th Congressional District the 2017 Congressional Medal of Merit, which honors extraordinary adolescents for their contributions, leadership, and achievements.
These distinguished students were nominated by their schools in recognition of their outstanding academic achievement, commitment to their communities, and civic involvement.
“I congratulate these exceptional students for their dedication to enhancing our communities and local schools,” said Congressman Posey. “Their hard work and achievement should be applauded, and this award helps ensure that the accomplishments of our students do not go unrecognized.”
The following Brevard County students have been awarded the 2017 Congressional Medal of Merit: Nicole Scarpino, Astronaut High School; Angela Sutton, Bayside High School; Jessica Scales, Cocoa High School; Jarod Vogt, Cocoa Beach Jr/Sr High School, Casey Krahmer, Eau Gallie High School; Danielle Mendoza, Edgewood Jr/Sr High School; Dylan O’Shea, Florida Preparatory Academy; Gage Sasenick, Heritage High School; Evan Killion, Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy; Sarah Laird, Melbourne Central Catholic School; Collin Combs, Melbourne High School; Jessica Kingsley, Merritt Island Christian School; Keely Knudson, Merritt Island High School; Phala Monte, Palm Bay Magnet High School; Samantha Cavallaro, Rockledge High School; Sophie Ewh, Satellite High School; Danielle Adkins, Space Coast Jr/Sr High School; Hannah Hillard, Titusville High School; Kelly Davis, Viera High School; and River Grace, West Shore Jr/Sr High School.
