BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Sherwood Golf Club hosted a charity golf tournament on Saturday, March 11 raising more than $2,600 for early education and childhood development.
More than 80 golfers and volunteers participated in the tournament with all proceeds benefiting The Children’s Center (TCC), a service of Parrish Healthcare.
The Children’s Center provides children with developmental delays and other disabilities a safe and healing environment to learn and grow.
“After taking a tour of the center, I learned that no family is turned away because they can’t afford services. I wanted to ensure these vital programs are available so decided to give back through a charity tournament. The community was supportive and the event was a huge success,” said Andy Ali, owner of Sherwood Golf Club.
Through collaboration and coordination of specialized services, TCC is located in south Titusville and houses eight partner agencies, including Nemours Children’s Specialty Care. TCC annually serves more than 2,000 families.
The center offers a continuum of care to all children, regardless of ability or socioeconomic status.
Families with special needs children and/or typically developing children can receive numerous health, therapy, education and child development services in a single location.
“We’d like to thank all the sponsors, golfers, volunteers and a special thank you to Sherwood Golf Club,” said Lori Duester, manager at The Children’s Center.
The tournament was a huge success due to the efforts of their staff and volunteer coordinators Andreano Ali, Mike and Epiphany Lipphardt.
“We’re extremely grateful for their support and commitment to the children and families in our community. The gift from Sherwood Golf Club is a great contribution to our vision of building strong families for life,” said Duester.
