Florida Tech Freshmen Duo Named All-Americans By U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech freshmen Joshua Norville and Ondrej Rapp were announced as All-Americans by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2017 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field season.

A total of 251 men claimed 301 All-American honors from 86 different institutions.

Student-athletes earned USTFCCCA First Team All-America status by virtue of finishing among the top-8 in their events at this past weekend’s NCAA DII Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Bradenton, Florida.

Second Team honors were bestowed upon those finishing 9th through 12th in individual events, as well as finishing in 9th or 10th as a member of a relay team.

Rapp raked in USTFCCCA First Team All-America honors after finishing seventh overall in the long jump finals at the NCAA Championships with a distance of 7.45m.

Norville was named a Second Team All-American following a 12th-place result in the long jump with a mark of 7.03m.

The pair is the first members of the men’s track & field program to be recognized as All-Americans.
