Eastern Florida State’s Jamie Howell To Coach Both Men’s and Women’s Golf

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – After 15 successful seasons with the men’s golf team, head coach Jamie Howell is ready to take on a new challenge at Eastern Florida State College.

Howell, who will remain the men’s golf coach, is taking over the women’s golf program which just finished its first official season in the spring.

“We are thrilled to announce that Jamie Howell is going to be our head women’s golf coach, adding to his head men’s duties,” Eastern Florida State College Associate Vice President of Athletics Jeff Carr said.

“Jamie will add so much credibility to our program because of his knowledge of the game, his recruiting connections and brings immediate success to our program. Jamie is the perfect person to lead our women’s program and I am thrilled that he has agreed to be our coach.”

The men’s golf team has reached the national championship tournament in all 15 of Howell’s seasons finishing as high second place, and third place twice.

The women’s golf team had a solid first season under interim head coach Margaret Lazarus, who will be Howell’s assistant.
