Mims, Indian River City Programs have good night

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Florida District 22 All-Stars continued play on Tuesday night at Indian River City Little League’s W.W. James Park in three divisions.
In the eight, nine and 10-year old baseball division, the visitors, Port St. John Little League (PSJLL), met Indian River City Little League (IRCLL).
PSJLL’s C. Burns had three great defensive plays, but PSJLL was unable to generate any runs.
IRCLL’s B. Dickey caught a line drive shot at shortstop and threw the ball to first baseman, K. Cox, for a double play while P. Wasson hit a stand-up triple in the fourth inning to aid IRCLL in their 14-0 win in 3 1/2 innings.
The winning pitcher was IRCLL’s K. Wycoff.
Intermediate:
Over at the Intermediate field, the visiting Merritt Island Little Leaguers (MILL) met Indian River City Little League for Game 2 of their best-2-out-of-3 series.
For MILL, Trevor Cabrera stole four bases and scored once while Aaron Finch scored twice.
But it was not enough as Cole Robinson started off IRCLL’s scoring with an RBI in the first.
Shane Stock had a two-run triple and Gage Krull had an RBI in the 6th to cap off IRCLL’s 9-4 victory to take the series into its “if needed” game which is being played on Wednesday night.

Seniors:
The Merritt Island Little League (MILL) Seniors Baseball team were visiting to the Mims Little League (MLL) Seniors in the second game of their best-of-3 series.
Logan Chesser got the visiting MILL All-Stars started early with a RBI single.
Brandon Barna, Jack Turner and Xavier Workman also had base hits while Jacob Hintz provided most of the MILL offensive firepower driving in four of his team’s seven runs with the big blast coming on his three-run homer.
But, the MLL All-Stars would not be denied as Quinton Williams had a double and two RBI’s, Tristan Woodruff drove in four runs and Cody Whitby chipped in with a double and a pait of runs batted in.
Colton Coffell had a great night at the plate going 4-for-4 and was also the winning pitcher.
Coffell threw four innings for Mims who picked up the win 16-7 in 6 1/2 innings.
With the win, Mims Little League will advance to represent District 22 at the Section 3 Senior League Baseball tournament in Palm Coast on July 8th.
