SPACE COAST DAILY SPORTS TV: Florida Tech 7-On-7 High School Football Tournament

Are you ready for some football? Perhaps today’s 7-on-7 round-robin tournament from the Florida Tech Training Center will help pass the time before training camps open next month. Starting at 3 p.m. today on Space Coast Daily TV, you can catch a glimpse of this year’s potential high school football stars.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Are you ready for some football? Perhaps today’s 7-on-7 round-robin tournament from Florida Tech’s Training Center will help pass the time before training camps open next month.

Today, on Space Coast Daily TV, you can catch a glimpse of this year’s potential high school football stars.

Join Space Coast Daily Sports Talk and Friday Night Locker Room’s Alan Zlotorzynski, live for the Florida Tech 7-on-7 High School football tournament from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Space Coast Daily Sports TV.

Alan will bring you all of the action, as teams play three round-robin games with a single elimination format taking place to decide this year’s champ.

Teams are comprised of seven players from what coaches call skill positions,

The quarterback, running backs and wide receivers along with defensive backs and athletic linebackers participating are  considered to be “skill positions” players.

There are 12 teams competing,  with three hailing from Brevard County.

ABOVE VIDEO: The format you will see today will be similar to this 7-on-7 tournament played in South Florida. 

Melbourne Central Catholic, who finished one game shy of the Class 3A State championship contest in Orlando last year is participating.

Other Brevard County teams include the Eau Gallie Commodores, led by head coach Tim Powers, and head coach Jake Owens’ Space Coast Vipers.

Melbourne Central Catholic quarterback Joaquin Collazo, last season’s Space Coast Daily–Friday Night Locker Room Offensive Player of the Year, will play in today’s 7-on-7 tourney.
