Melbourne Police Arrest Two Suspects, Charged With Aggravated Assault With Firearm, Kidnapping

Both SUSPECTS are convicted felons

MELBOURNE POLICE: Tyrone Reynolds, of 2500 Lipscomb Street in Melbourne, was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, Kidnapping and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Terrell Carpenter, of 1800 Southland Avenue in Melbourne, was charged with Kidnapping.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Melbourne Police Department responded to an armed disturbance at about 10:20 p.m. on Thursday night at 1584 Highland Avenue in Melbourne.

According to Melbourne Police Lt. T.A. Turner, a subject later identified as Tyrone M. Reynolds Jr., 22, was reported to have pointed a firearm at the victim and fled in a black vehicle.

“Several units converged and located the vehicle leaving the area in close proximity,” said Lt. Turner in a release.

“Further investigation revealed another person in the vehicle was kidnapped at gunpoint and forced into the vehicle prior to the stop.”

An additional passenger in the vehicle identified as Terrell D. Carpenter, 30, was found to have acted in concert during the kidnapping.

“A loaded .40 caliber semiautomatic firearm was discovered in the glove box near where Reynolds was located in the front seat,” said Lt. Turner.

Both Reynolds and Carpenter are convicted felons and prohibited from possessing firearms.

Reynolds, of 2500 Lipscomb Street in Melbourne, was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, Kidnapping and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

Carpenter, of 1800 Southland Avenue in Melbourne, was charged with Kidnapping.
