BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – The Titusville YMCA Family Center was recently awarded a $15,000 grant from the Jess Parrish Medical Foundation to support its Annual Scholarship Campaign.

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, The YMCA of Central Florida relies on the help from community partners to further its cause of strengthening communities and making sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.

All of the funds donated by the Jess Parrish Medical Foundation will go towards providing local families and children in Titusville, who would not otherwise be able to afford it, with access to the YMCA’s facilities and evidence-based programs.

“We are so grateful to have the continued support of an amazing and mission-based organization like the Jess Parrish Medical Foundation,” said Chrissy Elliott, Executive Director for the Titusville YMCA.

“Donations like theirs allow us to provide memberships and programs, including life-saving swimming lessons, to hundreds of our neighbors in the community who are in great need.”

Last year, thanks to the combined generosity of major donors such as the Jess Parrish Medical Foundation, as well as Y staff, members and board members, the Titusville YMCA was able to award more than $128,000 in financial assistance to the local community.

This assistance included 73 adult memberships, 333 family memberships, 30 senior memberships, 416 swimming lessons, 69 weeks of summer camp, 34 family nights and 117 youth sports scholarships.

“Our goal through the Community Grants Program is to help enhance healthcare services in North Brevard that support Parrish Medical Center’s mission of Healing Experiences for Everyone All the Time,” said Misty Wilson, Director at Jess Parrish Medical Foundation.

“We are proud to continue our partnership with the YMCA whose mission aligns so closely with ours.”

Over the last 18 years, Jess Parrish Medical Foundation has provided more than $112,000 in funding to the Titusville YMCA. The foundation is dedicated to supporting and enhancing healthcare outreach, patient care, rehabilitation, and wellness services that contribute to a better quality of life for citizens in North Brevard.

As such, Jess Parrish Medical Foundation awards grants to community organizations that align with the mission of Parish Medical Center.
