AMERICA IS A NATION OF STRENGTH WHEN IT STANDS TOGETHER, DRENCHED IN KNOWLEDGE THAT BEING DIVIDED IS THE ONLY FORCE THAT CAN DESTROY US!  – Wayne Ivey

On November 9, 2016, the day after the election, then President Barack Obama addressed the nation in a press conference and said something about President Elect Trump that many people either didn’t hear or have chosen to forget.

He said, “We are now all rooting for his success in uniting and leading the country. The peaceful transition of power is one of the hallmarks of our democracy, and over the next few months we are going to show that to the world.”

President Obama made that statement because he, better than anyone else knows how important it is for a nation to support their President. In fact, he even went on to say, “Everybody is sad when their side loses an election, but the day after, we have to remember that we’re actually all on one team. This is an intramural scrimmage. We’re not Democrats first. We’re not Republicans first. We are Americans first!”

If you voted for President Trump then you elected him to office to make the changes you wanted to see in Washington. If you did not vote for our President, I truly respect your decision as I firmly believe if everyone is sitting at the table thinking alike, then someone isn’t thinking.

Regardless who you voted for or what party you find yourself most aligned with, I bet you agree with me that our nation and process have spoken and it’s time to allow our elected President the opportunity to run our country as he was elected to do.

Like me, you are probably just as sick and tired of watching news story after news story that is agenda-driven and biased. It’s time to put all the rhetoric behind us as a nation and let President Trump demonstrate what he can or can’t do when allowed to be focused on doing his job!

While everyone knows that I personally supported President Trump during his campaign, this post is not a political statement in any capacity.

Instead, it is a message of patriotism and a call of unity to a nation that clearly needs to tell those in Washington DC to stop all the rhetoric and get back to work doing what they were elected to do…making sure our nation is never weakened from internal or external forces!
