BREVARD COUNTY • SUNTREE, FLORIDA – Advent Lutheran Church will  feature concerts at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday that include the collective talents of dozens of music teachers from public and private schools and studios, in a brass choir, mixed vocal ensemble, string and woodwind ensembles.

The 2017-18 concert series showcases the talents of 75 Brevard music and art educators during “Melodies & Masterpieces,” a free event at Advent Lutheran Church, located at 7550 North Wickham Road in Suntree.

Advent Lutheran Church organist Betty Jo Couch will perform on the American-made A.E. Schlueter Pipe Organ Co pipe organ of 36 ranks and 2,196 pipes, in the fourth annual event that will feature the music of Mozart, Gabrielli, Giannini, Scott Joplin, Aaron Copland and many more.

“We have an incredible pool of talented teachers working with our children here in Brevard,” said Couch.

“They work tirelessly with students to nurture talent and promote appreciation of the arts. For a short time, we will turn the spotlight on them, so that they can be appreciated as artists in their own right.”

The church will also display artwork by 12 teacher artists and some of their most talented students through Sunday, August 20 in the church lobby.
