BREVARD COUNTY • INDIALANTIC, FLORIDA – The Space Coast is in for a real treat on Friday, Sept. 1 as contemporary Christian recording artist Josh Wilson will perform at the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Community  in Indialantic, Florida.

Wilson will feature his number 1 hits, “That Was Then, This Is Now,” “Savior Please” and “Before the Morning.” He has also been commercially successful with the popular songs “I Refuse” and “Jesus is Alive.”

In 2012, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers named Wilson the “Christian Songwriter/Artist of the Year.” He was also named as the future of Christian pop music.

Space Coast Daily reached out to Wilson to find out what he enjoys most about touring.

“I love meeting new people and seeing new things,” said Wilson.

“I always enjoy checking out the local coffee shops and restaurants. I try to stay away from chains since I can get those anywhere.  I also like the concerts themselves. I spend 23 hours in a day traveling and preparing for the show, and that one or two hours of concert time is the best.  It’s a real time sharing of music.  I get to see the audience immediately respond to whatever I sing or say.”

The Space Coast is in for a real treat on Friday, Sept. 1 as contemporary Christian recording artist Josh Wilson will perform at the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Community in Indialantic, Florida. Also included in the show are Sarah Kroger, Ike Ndolo and Mathias Michael.

Wilson is also known as one of the kindest souls in contemporary Christian music.

Case in point: local cancer patient Julie Spurlock recently received a video clip of support and encouragement from Wilson in which he stated “I’m praying for you today, and to keep fighting that good fight. Hang in there, and hopefully I’ll get to meet you soon.”

That meeting will take place on Sept. 1 as Wilson has set aside time to meet and visit with Spurlock at HNJ before the concert. That’s just the kind of person he is.

On June 28, 2017, Wilson also set up a gofundme account when close friend and band mate Nate Johnson tragically lost his wife shortly after giving birth to their child.

Wilson’s goal was to raise $40,000. His hope was to raise enough money for Johnson to get off the road for at least six months and to help cover the bills and expenses he would incur.

As of early August, more than $400,000 has been raised. People respond to Wilson, he is a genuine, caring person, whose heart is always in the right place.

When asked what he would like for his audience to take away from the concert on Sept. 1, Wilson’s reply was, “Hope. There is hope, no matter who you are, or what you’ve been through.”

Also included in the show are Sarah Kroger, Ike Ndolo and Mathias Michael.

Kroger was once HNJ’s youth ministry worship leader at the parish and now travels nationally to minister at a variety of events.

Ndolo is a worship leader based out of Phoenix and leads worship at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Parish in Tempe, Ariz. His debut album, We Are Beggars, was released in 2009.

Michael is HNJ’s current youth ministry worship leader and also travels nationally.
