BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Florida Tech men’s soccer team is ranked No. 24 in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll, the organization announced Friday.

FIT, which finished last season with an 11-5-1 overall record and earned a NCAA Tournament berth for the first time since 1994, ended the year at No. 25 in the final Division II rankings.

The Panthers are one of four Sunshine State Conference schools ranked in the Top-25, joining No. 8 Tampa, No. 10 Lynn and No. 14 Palm Beach Atlantic.

The 2017 squad returns 15 letterwinners, including 11 players who started at least half of the games, from last year’s team that finished third in the SSC. FIT brings back All-SSC selections Evan Enders and Jan Hlavica. Enders also received an All-South Region nod.

Florida Tech kicks off the 2017 campaign against Francis Marion on Sept. 2 at Rick Stottler Field.
