Nominations Open Through Aug. 14 For ‘Stars of The Space Coast’ To Honor Nonprofits

Winners announced at luncheon on Sept. 15.
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Nominations will be accepted through Monday, Aug. 14, for the Parrish Medical Center “Stars of the Space Coast Awards, presented by 2-1-1 Brevard and honoring “stellar” work in local nonprofits.
Winners will be named at a luncheon event on Sept. 15. The awards are:
- Health First Supernova Award: The explosion of a star when its “luminosity increases by as much as 20 magnitudes,” this award recognizes a nonprofit for magnifying impact.
- Imperial Plaza/CBRE Lodestar Award: Meaning “a star that shows the way,” this award recognizes the board of a nonprofit for exceptional leadership.
- Hospice of St. Francis Superstar Award: This award recognizes an employee who has had significant impact on the nonprofit employer and the people it serves.

While Parrish is the title sponsor of the third annual event, the award names reflect local sponsors that also have stepped up. First-place winners in each category will receive a cash award.
Volunteer judges will select winners and finalists for the three awards. A fourth award, Community Star, will be presented after a digital “people’s choice” vote.
