Two People Injured In Afternoon Shooting In Melbourne, University Blvd. Shut Down

Melbourne Police are investigating a shooting that injured two people Friday afternoon and has shut down University Blvd. in both directions from Grant St. to Leonard Weaver Blvd.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police are investigating a shooting that injured two people Friday afternoon and has shut down University Blvd. in both directions from Grant St. to Leonard Weaver Blvd.

Officers were called to the scene around 2:45 p.m. for a reported shooting.

According to Melbourne Police, many of the people involved in the shooting near Shull Manor apartments knew each other.

Police say there are no active threats and the shooting is not considered random.

The status of the victims is not known at this time and officials advise motorists to avoid the area, due to delays.
