Brevard County Board County Commission To Hold Abbreviated Zoning Meeting Due To Hurricane Irma Threat

Commissioners will address only two issues

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Board of County Commissioners will hold an abbreviated Zoning meeting Thursday evening in advance of Hurricane Irma’s anticipated arrival in east central Florida.
Commissioners will address only two issues, and postpone action on other items included on the agenda until the Zoning meeting scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5.
Commissioners will consider an emergency ordinance for removal of disaster debris from private roads.
It requests the Board declare that an emergency exists in light of Hurricane Irma.
A super majority vote is required.
A second items asks the Board to consider options toward pursuing additional information on the state’s failure to timely file the County’s appeal on FEMA funding for collection of storm debris post-Hurricane Matthew.
The Zoning meeting starts at 5 p.m. in the Brevard County Government Commission Chambers, first floor, 2725 Judge Fran Jamieson Way, Viera.
