Cocoa Police, Fleet Services Team Up To Save Kitten Trapped In Citizen’s Car Engine

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa Police Department’s Monday Hero award goes to Gary Washington of the City’s Fleet Services.

Police say a woman called early Monday for police assistance when she got into her car to go to work after she heard ‘meowing’ coming from her engine. After realizing there was a small kitten stuck in deep in the engine compartment, she called for help.

After trying numerous way to free the kitten, Lieutenant Rob Bobay called upon the mechanics at Fleet Services for assistance. The car was jacked up by Randy Washington and the kitten was eventually freed.

The kitten is now at animal services and will be put up for adoption.

Cocoa Police would like to thank everyone involved in the kitten’s rescue.
