BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Sophomore Danilo Orsi Dadomo scored his conference-leading ninth goal but the Eastern Florida State College men’s soccer team lost to Daytona State 2-1 in the Region 8 Conference opener Wednesday night at Titan Field House on the Melbourne campus.

The Titans dominated the possession throughout much of the first half but it was Daytona State who went into the half with the 1-0 lead as Creggton Charlton scored with eight minutes left in the first half.

But 16 minutes into the second half Chaim Roserie made a nice run and hit a shot off Daytona State goalkeeper Phil D’Amico and right to Orsi Dadomo who put it in the back of the net to tie the game 1-1.

The game looked like it may go to overtime as both teams made it tough on the other to get open looks.

With 5 minutes and 11 seconds remaining in the match, Charlton got behind the defense and after being denied initially, got the ball back and scored to give the Falcons a 2-1 lead.

The Titans have now lost to No. 1 Monroe College and No. 6 Daytona State this season and are 3-2 on the season.

“We started really poorly and paid for it in the end but I thought we came out with some energy in the second half and made some adjustments,” Eastern Florida State College men’s soccer coach Oliver Twelvetrees said. “We just really struggled to produce in the final third. We had a lot of opportunities but credit to them, they defended really well. We will bounce back and put together a better performance next time.”

The Titans will travel to Broward College on Tuesday night in a Region 8 Conference match.
