President Donald Trump, First Lady, To Visit Florida Today To Support Hurricane Irma Victims

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The White House announced Tuesday that President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump will visit Florida on Thursday to witness the damage left in the wake of Hurricane Irma.

Irma hit the Florida Keys, then made made landfall in southwest Florida last weekend, and then traversed the entire Florida peninsula.

“The president’s action during these times demonstrate why he’s a true leader who can bring the country together and get things done for the American people,” said White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders during the press briefing on Tuesday.

Sanders said that Brock Long, Federal Emergency Management Agency Administrator, was already touring the state on Tuesday.

The trip to Florida on Thursday will be President Trump’s third hurricane response over the last three weeks. He visited the Texas Gulf Coast twice and Louisiana once to give encouragement to victims and first responders of Hurricane Harvey.
