BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – After an impressive performance in Florida Tech’s season opening victory on Saturday, Brevard County’s Max Erdman was named the Gulf South Conference’s Special Team Player of the Week.

This is Erdman’s first time receiving the award.

Neither poor weather nor the opposing team were able to slow down Florida Tech on Saturday, as the Panthers dominated Virginia University of Lynchburg 44-0 in their season opener at Florida Tech Panther Stadium.

The redshirt-sophomore continually gave the Panthers great field position throughout Florida Tech’s shutout win over Virginia-Lynchburg.

Erdman racked up 107 return yards on five punts for a 21.4 yard average.

However, the Melbourne, Florida  product’s biggest play was a 70-yard touchdown return for FIT’s final score of the game in the fourth quarter.

Panthers Take on McNeese State Next Saturday

Erdman and the Panthers are back in action on Saturday, Sept. 9, with a road game against Division I-FCS opponent McNeese State in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Kickoff is set to begin at 7 p.m. ET at Cowboys Stadium.

Tickets for Florida Tech Panther football games are $16 for adult reserved seating and $14 for senior, child and FIT employee reserved seating. Adult general admission tickets are $12, while senior, child and FIT employee general admission tickets are $6.

Season tickets are also available purchase. The cost for adult reserved season tickets is $56 and senior, child and FIT employee tickets are $36. Adult general admission season tickets are $40, while senior, child and FIT employee general admission tickets are $24.
