BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA — A new exhibition titled The Magical Worlds of Nancy Dillen is on view through Jan. 26, 2018, at the Frits Van Eeden Gallery in Florida Institute of Technology’s Renee Foosaner Education Center.

An artist and art educator, Dillen is a professor emeritus at Eastern Florida State College.

The exhibition features her recent graphite drawings, vivid oil paintings and whimsical sculptures. Favorite props from her studio will also be displayed, providing a glimpse into her creative process.

The Magical Worlds of Nancy Dillen focuses on the two worlds from which Dillen derives her inspiration: the real and the imaginary. Her fantastic, detailed imagery merits close scrutiny.

According to Dillen, “Art should have surprises and be a feast for the eyes. Otherwise, why bother?”

The Frits Van Eeden gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, as well as from 5:30-7:30 p.m. the first Friday of each month. Admission is free.

The Renee Foosaner Education Center is located at 1520 Highland Ave. in the Eau Gallie Arts District of Melbourne.

Beyond the Exhibition Dillen will offer a free gallery talk on Thursday, Oct. 26, at 2 p.m.

She will also offer a one-day painting workshop at the Renee Foosaner Education Center on Saturday, Dec. 9.
