BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA — Grandparents Raising Grandchildren of Brevard County Florida held their Second Annual Golf Tournament on October 7 at Turtle Creek Golf Club in Rockledge Florida. The postponement due to Hurricane Irma didn’t dampen the fun or success of this important fundraiser with 19 teams in attendance, many repeats from last year.
The Master of Ceremonies was County Commissioner Curtis Smith, who was also one of our proud event sponsors.
Also joining the event sponsor list were The Proctor Family, Slug-A-Bug Pest Control, The Deffebach Family, Proctor Consulting Group, The Bollinger Family, Robert Henry, and Terry Casto.
Holes were sponsored by several Brevard citizens in honor of and in memory of family members, several GRG Board Members, Tory Bruno, CEO of ULA Launch, Brevard companies Cocoa Hyundai, Quarno’s Auto Salvage, MCS Courier Service, Wyse Choice Air and Heat, and Randy Fullem from Karr Professional Group.
This year the agency added a Silent Auction with prizes donated by Frog Bones Family Shooting Center, HotRayz Limousine, Atlantic Furniture Mattress and Flooring, Health First Gives Back and Tommy Chong.
Through the generosity of many Brevard businesses, there were over 50 door prizes.
Golf Carts Unlimited provided a Hole-In-One challenge to win one of their great golf carts. Lunch was a delicious Burger Bar and Brat buffet at Twisted Birch Sports Bar and Grill while the awards and prizes were announced.
