BREVARD COUNTY • INDIAN HARBOUR, FLORIDA – Indian Harbour Beach police officers arrested Ethan E. O’Hara, 21, of Indian Harbour Beach and charged him with three counts of sexual battery.

According to police, immediately after Hurricane Irma passed in September, the 12-year-old female victim went to her neighbor’s house in Indian Harbour Beach to ask if they had WIFI as the victim’s power was out and the neighbors were running a generator while sitting outside.

According to a police report, the victim did not know the suspect. The suspect told the female victim “no,” but then struck up a conversation. Over the next week, the suspect became friendly with the victim and was very flattering toward her.

“He eventually asked her for sex, which she declined,” said police in a report.

“After several rejected attempts the suspect then threatened harm to her and/or her family. The victim finally relented, fearing she or her family would be harmed. This occurred several times over the next several weeks.”

Police said that the victim stated she was terrified of the suspect.

“The victim stated she knows there may be one more victim of the suspect who is also under 16 years of age,” said police in their report. “The victim’s mother became aware of the situation and immediately telephoned the Indian Harbour Beach Police Department.”
