WEATHER ALERT! Space Coast Daily is live in Melbourne before NWS extended the Flash Flood Warning for 11:30 p.m.
**UPDATE** BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The National Weather Service in Melbourne has extended the Flash Flood Warning for Palm Bay, Melbourne and Merritt Island until 11:30 p.m.

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Southeastern Brevard County until 9:15 p.m.
At 6:09 p.m., Doppler radar and automated rain gauges continue to indicate thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area.
Measured rainfall amounts up to 6 to 8 inches have already occurred from West Melbourne area, as well as Melbourne Beach southward through Floridana Beach today, and additional heavy rainfall amounts up to 2 to 3 inches will be possible.
This will lead to flash flooding, with roadways becoming impassable and water potentially entering some homes.
Some locations that will experience flooding include West Melbourne, Melbourne, Malabar, Indialantic, Melbourne Beach and Floridana Beach.
