BREVARD COUNTY • MIMS, FLORIDA – The Florida Federation of Garden Clubs will host a dedication and unveiling ceremony for the Blue Star Memorial at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on Saturday, November 4, at 2 p.m.

The guest speaker will be Florida State Senator Dorothy Hukill. The welcome address will be delivered by Zetta Gillespie, Director of District VI of the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs.

Other speakers include Past District VI Director Kathleen Terlizzo, Reverend Dr. Susan Pollizzi, Carolyn Schaag, Gloria Blake and Arlene Rand.

The Blue Star became an icon in World War II and was seen on flags and banners in homes for sons and daughters away at war, and in churches and businesses.

This program has been active all through the years to the present, a fitting tribute to our Armed Forces and especially now.

The event is open to the public and guests should arrive no later than 1:30 p.m. The Cape Canaveral National Cemetery is located at 5525 U.S. Highway 1
in Mims. Parking is available at the Public Information Center and Administrative Office.
